Pray Church, Pray!

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:1-4

Those in the church must pray! We must pray as we've not prayed before. It is no longer time for a short prayer when you get up and a "Now I lay me down to sleep" prayer when you go to bed. That' won't make it…it just isn't enough. It's not enough for you or I to lead a fruit bearing Christian life much less to change the world around us. I know we are living in the last days and that Christ's return could be any time. I also know that our country will no doubt face judgment. But when one knows that a storm could be heading his way, does he just fold his arms and say, "whatever will be will be."

Pray for our President. That's a commandment. Pray for our leaders, and pray for the elections that are coming upon us. We will decide if we will live under socialism and a Marxist society or one that is free. Why should we pray, "that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty." So we can worship without harassment: So we can send our children to the school of our choice: So we can have the freedom to chose whatever career is best for us: So we can continue to travel safely from one place to another, and the list goes on and on.

Not only is it enough to pray for the elections coming up, but we must have revival. Revival will not come in the ballot box but it starts in the heart. What is real revival? Real revival is when men forsake their sins and realize that this world is not their home. It is when they truly understand that all things here are only temporary and that eternal things are more important. It's when they understand that being true to Christ is more important than anything. "So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple." Luke 14:33 Our young men and women go off to a distant country to fight for America and sometimes never return. They are heroes! Yet, it is hard for many to frequent the house of God much less to take up the cross.

The church must pray. It is our only hope! God alone has the power to change lives and to move on our nation! "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12 PRAY CHURCH PRAY!
